Online Treasury of Talmudic Manuscripts
The Jewish National and University Library staff

Description:
A joint project of The Jewish National and University Library, David and Fela Shapell Family Digitization Project and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Department of Talmud
This project brings together images of major Talmudic manuscripts from libraries throughout the world. Many public and private institutions have given permission for use of images of their manuscripts.

As of September 2004, the site contains 78 manuscripts (including 55 Geniza fragments) from 11 collections.

The manuscripts are indexed to enable access by standard citation (tractate, daf and amud for the Talmud Bavli, and tractate, chapter and mishna for the Mishna).

Technical information:
Uniform jpeg images (72 dpi) have been prepared from a variety of sources (scanning from microfilm, scanning from facsimiles, scanning from originals - both locally and at the holding institutions).
The navigation tool is an ASP application using an MS-ACCESS database.
