The Minerva Israel Forum includes most institutions in Israel that both have official responsibilities in the area of Cultural Heritage and have an active interest in the application of advanced technologies in culture.
Minerva Israel was established following Israel participation in MINERVA – Ministerial Network for Valorising Activities in digitisation.
Israel was very active in the National Representatives Group (NRG) established to co-ordinate national digitisation policies between Member States. The MINERVA projects served as the operational secretariat for the activities of the NRG. These transnational activities set the background for the establishment of the European Digital Library, Europeana.
Since 2004 the Minerva Israel Forum serves as the Steering Committee of the annual EVA/Minerva Jerusalem International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Culture. The conference is part of the Italy Israel Agreement for Cooperation in Education and Culture.
