The participation of Israel in the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Technological Development, since 1996, opened the way for partners from Israel to participate in projects concerning technological innovation for Cultural Heritage.
The annual EVA/Minerva Jerusalem International Conference on Advanced Technologies for Culture since 2004 convenes the relevant community of professionals and researchers from Europe, Israel and farther abroad. It has been a catalyst for professional development and an enable of many joint projects.
Europeana the flagship initiative of the European Commission and the projects involved in its development have been a constant feature of these events.
At the end of 2016 Israel is about to join another programme of much relevance for its cultural community of professionals: Creative Europe, the European Commission’s framework programme for support to the culture and audiovisual sectors.
