This year
we are hosting a large set of the projects which are building Europeana,
Europe’s flagship digital library, museum,
archives and audio visual collections. It is funded under the Commission's eContentplus
programme. Europeana first edition will be
launched at the time of the conference and will bring about 10 million
objects and a rich variety of services – space temporal browsing;
personalization; annotation and storytelling support; mobile access; eBooks
on demand; and much more. Europeana stakeholders are represented through
the members of the Europeana
Foundation.
Europeana will be represented at the
conference through its Director for Business Development, Harry Verwayen
and by the leading project that is actually developing its services,
Europeana Connect represented by its director Max Kaiser.

This year we will be holding a special
museum track; supported by, the Ministry of Science,
Culture Directorate for Culture, The Department for Museums and Visual Arts
and will highlight projects evolving from the museum community. The
European projects that represent and act from the museum community include
ATHENA and STERNA. ATHENA harvests collections
from museums and other cultural institutions all over Europe and integrates
them into Europeana via specific tools, based on a common agreed set of
standards and guidelines. The museum track will also highlight leading
museum projects from Israel and will be directed by
Prof.
Ruth Ben-Israel, Chair, Council
of Museums.

Invitation
to Present in the Professional Networking Session
The Professional Networking Sessions offer the
perfect opportunity to showcase your project, bringing together colleagues
that are interested in a specific topic in order to discuss project ideas,
ongoing research activities and potential partnerships. The EVA/MINERVA
networking sessions tend to be less formal than the workshops, and encourage
active participation in an informal atmosphere.
